I worked with Laurel at eBay for 5 years watching her grow from a new technical writer to accomplished senior tech writer and then onto becoming the eBay Developer Program Community Manager.
Laurel has excellent communication skills, really understands what developers want and need and is passionate about delivering to customers.
She not only understood the APIs and tools the developers used but also learned what motivated developers to adopt the eBay platform out of the many choices available. She took this understanding and dialed in marketing, conversion and retention campaigns to grow the eBay Developer community. This extended eBay’s reach to thousands more eBay buyers and sellers worldwide.
I would highly recommend Laurel in the roles of community manager, project manager and marketing.

When you’re in need of a perfect combination of developer and people skills, look no further than Ms. Laurel Kline. The awesome combination of both of these traits set Laurel apart from many in this profession. So many times, a developer can do the work we were looking for in a timely manner, but few like Laurel could take the extra time to explain the why’s of the project and make us comfortable at the same time. The bonus: she’s a wonderful person beyond the 9-5 hours as well. Highly recommended.

Laurel did a great job in marketing the eBay Developers Program!
She was extremely dedicated, including at marketing events such as conferences.
Two more examples her many contributions were: promoting new features, and helping to make sure that customers’ questions and concerns about those features were addressed.

Laurel was one of my favorite eBay employees to work with!
One of my favorite attributes about Laurel and her work on the dev relations team was meeting up with her at dev conferences. Laurel always made an effort to seek out the Auctiva team, see how we were doing and then make sure we were introduced to various other eBay staff or eBay partners that Laurel felt we should know.
Laurel also did a great job of staying versed in all aspects of eBay and the changes that occurred over the years that would impact third party companies like Auctiva.
Overall, a great, upbeat personality that is knowledgeable and passionate about running developer programs!

The Developers’ meetings she hosted with Product Managers were always a pleasure to attend as she engages and is respectful of everyone. Her technical and communication skills help to move meetings along and gets everyone focused on solving common problems.
